This website, and our Twitter page, were created in December 2010. The site began simply as a collection of the best quotes from all the Harry Potter books. We later added a section dedicated to quotes from the films.
In February 2012 we began to relaunch the site with several updates including an improved design, better usability, a new backend system, more movie quotes and a brand new section called ‘Muggle Quotes’, which is a collection of fantastic quotes that we’ve found in interviews from many real-world people related to Harry Potter including JK Rowling, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and more. We’ll be continually adding to this section as we discover more quotes from the cast & crew and other high-profile people.
Collecting quotes: We used the Bloomsbury UK editions of the seven Harry Potter books to find all the great book quotes and we think we’ve got near perfect accuracy on them. However, if you find any errors, please let us know.
For the Movie Quotes section, we used a mixture of techniques. We watched the films and noted down the best quotes, we looked on IMDB to find some more, and some are purely from memory. We definitely can’t guarantee accuracy here so again, please contact us if you find any errors and we’ll verify it.
If you’ve found a book, movie or ‘Muggle’ quote that we don’t currently have on the site, please send it in to us on this page. For book quotes please include which book and chapter it is from, for film quotes please tell us which film it’s from and the time that it occurs. For any ‘Muggle’ quotes, try to include a reliable source.
